| Took me fifteen minutes to figure out how this works again.
To the person who asked for M&D email address, it's paines4(nospam)@cebridge.net (remove everything in parenthesis). They did remember who you were when I double-checked.

| So evidently I got "tagged" for this weird habits thing. Ok, I'll play along. Just keep in mind that I do all my blogging over at the other site because it gets opened more and I figured out how to use it. So dumdedumdumdum...
Weird Habit #1: Some people play Air Guitar. I play Air Gun. Even in the car. Driving down the road, see a deer... "Ahha! A deer!" CLICK BANG!
Weird Habit #2: I count steps on a stairs. There are nineteen on the front stairs at work, and a bent flight of ten/nine in the back.
Weird Habit #3: My idea of a "fun weekend" is being left alone with my computer.
Weird Habit #4: From some odd general principle, I refuse to get on IM before 9:00 PM unless asked by a higher power (ie, Bethany, or my boss, who seems to like IM a lot).
Weird Habit #5: I cannot resist joining other people's conversations about a) politics b) military c) guns. Get me started on that, and... well, you'll have to walk away before I'm finished.

| Ok, yes, another one of my very rare updates. The reason these updates are more rare is because I prefer to use Livejournal (yes, I know, I'm just a scumbag). The xanga account is really more for me to comment on other people's xangas. I like the layout of Livejournal just a wee bit better. The addy is http://www.livejournal.com/users/brockpaine/ for those of you who care.
In the news, FYI, I am working as a contractor technical writer for Twin Valley Telephone (see www.twinvalley.net for the website I helped but together). I'm the only TW, and I also tend to fill the role of IT/Tech Support, and I've received the nickname "Doctor Paine" for my ability to bluff fixing a computer or find the telephone number for tech support. It's pretty much my dream job - I get to do everything, from logo design to Photoshopping to web design to manual design to instruction to... you get the idea.
And I also have a cool new car (well, new as in 4 months old now), a 2000-something Mercury Grand Marquis. I think it's 2002 but I can't recall for the life of me. I'd get more caffine but it's nearly bedtime. It's kinda a shiny... bronzish... state trooperish kinda color. It is a really stinkin awesome car.
Also since I left school I got a new laptop, for those who care (no one, I gather). Other new acquisitions include my new used Ruger GP-100 revolver and my CZ-75B autopistol. The CZ is new enough I haven't even shot it yet, planning on going tomorrow during my "Christmas Shopping Trip".
Speaking of Christmas, I was thinking... when I was little, Christmas was this really awesome holiday where you get presents, and you went and sat every day under the tree to shake your boxes and try to figure out what was in them. These days though, everybody just asks "What do you want for Christmas?" or sends money - exception being my sister, who always seems to get me something that's simultaneously COOL and really unexpected. But otherwise, there's no big mystery in Christmas anymore. It's kinda like... "Oh, you gave me that stuff I asked for. That's cool. When's Christmas lunch?" I mean, half of the fun of Christmas was playing the game of I-bet-you-can't-guess-what's-in-THIS-box-sucker! The other half of the fun was getting all of the really stinkin awesome Christmas food like frozen buckeyes and Soup-with-a-capital-S (it's a family recipe) or deviled eggs with the funky brown powder on top. And these days you'll get your pants sued off if you tell someone Merry Christmas, cause it might offend somebody. So here's my holiday greetings list:
To Bethany who is still so sweet and cool: Merry Christmas!! To my family: Merry Christmas! To my friends: Merry Christmas, glad you're my friends! To my coworkers: Merry Christmas, it's good working with you! To the US and Allied troops: Merry Christmas and God protect you. To the Liberals and the ACLU: Merry Christmas, Scumbags. To the Iraqi Terrorists: Merry Christmas, now go to hell. Deo vindice! To the devil and his brood: Merry Christmas, you lost on the first Christmas, and your last day is coming. And finally... To Jesus Christ the Victor: Merry Christmas, and come again soon.

| Ok, I've been reminded that I need to update this every so often.
Since mentioning this doesn't count as an update, I'll say some more. Today was... fun, I guess. Got up at eight so Mom would see I'm not sleeping in until 11:30. Then after she left for work I went back to bed and slept until 11:30. Then worked on stuff for a while, managed to get things done. Played Halo multiplayer for a while. I'm not the best, but I'm not usually the worst, either. Usually middlish, unless people have sniper rifles. Then I'm toasted. When everybody has rockets... yay, I love rockets. Then I read more stargate spoilers and worked on a web page for four hours. What joy.
End of update. If you want my email addy, leave a comment somewhere and I'll email you the address.

| YES! YESSSS!! YES!! YEEEEEEEEEEHHHHAAAWWW!
Sorry. I got back to school today. I have long missed my T1 connection and the oodles of super programs that we have (Photoshop, Pagemaker, CSInDesign, good ol'Groupwise, and the excellent spam-blocker). And now, we have a blazingly superfast room computer, with a thinline monitor, a DVD player (finally), speakers that are better than my subcompacts, and the instant internet. Pictures come up - poof! Movies come up - poof! I love college!
My roommate isn't here today... so I selfishly took the lower bunk. I put everything in the wardrobe and it's just perfect for all my stuff - I almost don't need my shelves. I don't have any schoolwork cluttering the area until Tuesday or so. Yehaw.
Anyway, late here... we went and watched about half the episodes of StarGate, fifth season, and got pizza. So much to do... tomorrow.
